AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the official statement, "An unusual meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of forbidden practices and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The narrative features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden group.
The questline concentrates on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana in addition to several items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Content
This release also brings the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
